El tobillo es un sitio incómodo para poner una restricción. Hay poco tejido entre la piel y el hueso, los tendones pasan justo por debajo y cualquier correa mal ajustada se nota en cinco minutos. Cuidados

Limpiar con un paño ligeramente húmedo y jabón neutro, y pasar después un paño seco. No sumergir, no lavar bajo el chorro y no meter en la lavadora: el poliuretano se despega de su base textil cuando se empapa. Nada de alcohol, acetona ni desinfectantes agresivos, que levantan el acabado y lo dejan mate y descamado. Tampoco usar grasas ni acondicionadores para cuero auténtico: el sintético no los absorbe y algunos aceites degradan la superficie. Secar los herrajes por completo después de limpiar, porque el dorado se opaca con la humedad retenida. Dejar secar al aire, lejos de radiadores y de sol directo. Para el almacenamiento, y esto importa especialmente en clima húmedo: guardar plano o colgado, sin dobleces marcados, en un lugar ventilado y no dentro de una bolsa plástica cerrada. El poliuretano se degrada con humedad y calor, y ese deterioro empieza por dentro; una pieza que empieza a agrietarse o a ponerse pegajosa ya no se recupera y se reemplaza. Revisar antes de cada uso las perforaciones, las costuras y la hebilla, que son los tres puntos por donde falla una correa.

Care Instructions

Clean with a lightly dampened cloth and mild soap, then go over it with a dry cloth. Don't submerge it, don't wash it under running water, and don't machine wash: polyurethane separates from its fabric backing when soaked. No alcohol, acetone or harsh disinfectants, which lift the finish and leave it dull and flaking. Don't use greases or conditioners made for real leather either — synthetic doesn't absorb them, and some oils degrade the surface. Dry the hardware completely after cleaning, since gold-tone finishes dull with trapped moisture. Air dry away from radiators and direct sun. For storage, and this matters particularly in a humid climate: keep it flat or hanging, without sharp creases, somewhere ventilated and not sealed in a plastic bag. Polyurethane degrades with heat and humidity, and that breakdown starts from within; a piece that begins to crack or turn tacky won't recover and should be replaced. Before each use, check the holes, the stitching and the buckle — the three places a strap fails.
