Aro central y cuatro brazos. La Spider Gag de Rouge es una mordaza de boca abierta construida en metal: un aro central del que salen cuatro brazos curvados que se abren hacia los lados, montados sobre una correa ancha de cuero con hebilla.
Es una mordaza de aro, no de bulbo. En lugar de llenar la boca con una pieza sólida, el aro la mantiene abierta dejándola despejada, y los cuatro brazos se apoyan hacia fuera para sostener la posición y evitar que la pieza gire o se desplace.
Al ser hueca y abierta, no obstruye la vía aérea del mismo modo que una mordaza sólida.
La correa es ancha, de cuero, con ojales metálicos a lo largo y hebilla de doble barra, así que ajusta a distintos tamaños de cabeza y reparte la tensión en la nuca.

Cuidados
Limpiar a fondo después de cada uso. La estructura metálica se lava con agua tibia y jabón neutro, frotando toda la superficie, y se seca por completo de inmediato para evitar oxidación; prestar atención a las uniones y a los puntos donde el metal entra en el cuero, que es donde se acumula humedad. La correa de cuero se limpia aparte, solo con un paño húmedo y sin sumergir: el agua lo endurece y lo agrieta. Un acondicionador para cuero de vez en cuando mantiene la correa flexible; en el clima de Panamá conviene airearla con frecuencia para prevenir moho. Guardar extendida, en bolsa individual y en lugar fresco y seco.
Revisar antes de cada uso el recubrimiento del metal, las soldaduras, los remaches, los ojales y la hebilla. Cualquier rebaba, punta expuesta, óxido o zona donde el recubrimiento se haya desprendido inutiliza la pieza: metal descubierto o áspero dentro de la boca puede cortar tejido o dañar el esmalte dental.

It's a ring gag, not a bulb gag. Rather than filling the mouth with a solid piece, the ring holds it open and clear, and the four prongs brace outward to hold the position and keep the piece from rotating or shifting.
Being hollow and open, it doesn't obstruct the airway the way a solid gag does.

Care Instructions
Clean thoroughly after every use. Wash the metal structure with warm water and mild soap, scrubbing the whole surface, and dry it completely straight away to prevent rust; pay attention to the joints and to where the metal enters the leather, which is where moisture collects. Clean the leather strap separately, with a damp cloth only and never submerged: water hardens and cracks it. Occasional leather conditioner keeps the strap supple; in Panama's climate, air it frequently to prevent mildew. Store flat, in an individual pouch in a cool, dry place.
Before each use, inspect the metal's coating, the welds, rivets, eyelets and buckle. Any burr, exposed point, rust or area where the coating has flaked takes the piece out of service: bare or rough metal inside the mouth can cut tissue or damage tooth enamel.
