Barra rígida y dos puños. La Leg Spreader Bar de Rouge combina una barra metálica telescópica de 30 pulgadas —unos 76 cm— con un par de puños acolchados de cuero, unidos a la barra mediante mosquetones de gancho.

La barra es lo que define la pieza. A diferencia de una atadura con cuerda o correas, una barra rígida mantiene una separación fija: no se puede juntar las piernas ni reducir la distancia. Esa es toda la función.

Es telescópica, con tornillo de fijación, así que la longitud se regula dentro de un rango y la pieza se guarda más corta de lo que trabaja.

Cuidados

Limpiar la barra y los herrajes con un paño humedecido en agua tibia y jabón neutro, y secarlos por completo de inmediato para evitar oxidación, prestando atención al mecanismo telescópico y al tornillo. Los puños de cuero se limpian aparte, solo con un paño húmedo y sin sumergir: el agua endurece el cuero y empapa el acolchado, que después no seca bien. Un acondicionador para cuero de vez en cuando mantiene los puños flexibles; en el clima de Panamá conviene airearlos con frecuencia para prevenir moho. Guardar la barra recogida y los puños extendidos, en lugar fresco y seco.

Revisar antes de cada uso el tornillo de fijación, los mosquetones, los remaches de los puños, los botones de cierre y las costuras. Si el tornillo no sostiene la barra con firmeza o un mosquetón no cierra por completo, no usar la pieza.

A rigid bar and two cuffs. The Rouge Leg Spreader Bar pairs a 30-inch telescoping metal bar — about 76 cm — with a pair of padded leather cuffs, attached to the bar by snap hooks.

The bar is what defines the piece. Unlike rope or straps, a rigid bar holds a fixed separation: the legs can't come together and the distance can't be reduced. That's the entire function.

It telescopes, with a locking screw, so the length adjusts within a range and the piece stores shorter than it works.

The cuffs are wide and padded on the inside, with snap closures and a side ring. The width and padding spread pressure across the ankle rather than concentrating it, which is what allows wearing them a while without marking.

The snap hooks let the cuffs come on and off quickly.

Care Instructions

Clean the bar and hardware with a cloth dampened in warm water and mild soap, and dry them completely straight away to prevent rust, paying attention to the telescoping mechanism and the screw. Clean the leather cuffs separately, with a damp cloth only and never submerged: water hardens leather and soaks the padding, which then doesn't dry properly. Occasional leather conditioner keeps the cuffs supple; in Panama's climate, air them frequently to prevent mildew. Store the bar collapsed and the cuffs flat, in a cool, dry place.

Before each use, inspect the locking screw, the snap hooks, the cuff rivets, the closure snaps and the stitching. If the screw won't hold the bar firmly or a hook won't close fully, don't use the piece.
