Es distinto a un penacho. Un plumero de marabú roza con muchas fibras cortas a la vez; una pluma de avestruz es una sola superficie amplia, larga y de barbas suaves que se abre en abanico. El contacto es más extenso y más envolvente: cubre bastante piel de una pasada en lugar de concentrarse en un punto.
La pluma tiene además dos caras distintas. Las barbas laterales son lo más suave, y el raquis central —el eje de la pluma— es firme, así que la misma pieza sirve para acariciar con las barbas o trazar líneas con el borde. Dos texturas sin cambiar de juguete.
El mango es largo y con empuñadura, así que permite mantener distancia y controlar la presión con precisión.

Cuidados
No mojar la pluma: el agua separa las barbas y deforma el abanico de forma difícil de recuperar. Si se ensucia, sacudirla y airearla. Para reordenar las barbas, pasarlas suavemente entre los dedos desde el raquis hacia afuera, siguiendo su dirección natural. El mango se limpia con un paño humedecido en agua tibia y jabón neutro, y se seca bien, sin dejar que el agua llegue a la base de la pluma. Guardar colgada o de pie, nunca aplastada ni doblada: una pluma de avestruz que se guarda con peso encima pierde la forma. Lejos de la luz directa, que decolora. Con el uso suelta alguna barba, cosa normal en el material.

One feather, a big one. The Sportsheets Ostrich Feather is a full ostrich plume mounted on a long, slim handle with a grip.
It works differently from a spray. A marabou tickler brushes with many short fibers at once; an ostrich feather is a single broad surface, long and soft-barbed, fanning out wide. Contact is more extensive and more enveloping: it covers a fair amount of skin in one pass rather than concentrating on a point.
The feather also has two distinct faces. The side barbs are the softest part, and the central quill — the feather's spine — is firm, so the same piece can stroke with the barbs or trace lines with the edge. Two textures without switching toys.
The handle is long with a grip, so you can keep distance and control pressure precisely.

Care Instructions
Do not wet the feather: water separates the barbs and distorts the fan in ways that are hard to undo. If it gets dusty, shake it and air it out. To reset the barbs, draw them gently between your fingers from the quill outward, along their natural direction. Clean the handle with a cloth dampened in warm water and mild soap and dry well, without letting water reach the feather base. Store hanging or upright, never crushed or bent: an ostrich feather stored under weight loses its shape. Keep it away from direct light, which fades the color. It sheds the occasional barb with use, which is normal for the material.
